How to change the name of a tab on a Facebook Fan Page
When you have created a Facebook business page, as we have done for our site Marble-Apoio Administrativo, one of the most useful applications that you can add is a "Contact Us" tab. There are many applications around, with all kinds of customisations, but we just wanted a simple page that users can complete, send a short message and then on move quickly to the timeline. We also wanted to add a header image to the contact form.
Eventually we settled on "Contact Form" which did everything we needed and everything looked great. Except that the title of the tab on the screen was in Hebrew! While this might pique the interest of many users, it could also lead to confusion, so this needed to to changed. But how to do this?
Fortunately in the new Facebook this is really easy, and can be applied to any third party app on Facebook pages (core Facebook tabs cannot be amended), and here is how it is done:
First of all you need to find the application for the tab to be amended, so select EDIT PAGE (top right of the screen) and then APPS (about the eighth selection down on the left hand side of the screen)
You’ll see all the applications that you are using on your page appear on the right of the screen, together with a brief description of each one. Find the application that you want to amend and select EDIT SETTINGS
A pop-up will appear and you need to enter the details that you want, in this case “Contact Us”, then SAVE the changes and click on OK.
That’s it. Next time you go to your fan page, your amendment will show up.
So go to our Marble-Apoio Administrativo page and let us know if this was any help.
